Are your seismographs used to measure earthquakes?
No. Our units are designed to measure vibration and air pressure created during activities such as blasting, pile driving, construction and mining.
Do I have to have the unit calibrated?
Annual calibration is recommended in order for your seismograph to perform at peak efficiency.
You should also check the regulations in your area to ensure your compliance in this matter.
What is the vector sum?
Calculates a particle velocity value based on a single point in time.
For every sample taken during an event, each seismic channel’s velocity measurements can be applied to following formula:
VS = SQR(R² + T² + V²)
Seismic channels = Radial, Transverse, Vertical
Velocity measurements- inches or mm per second
What does inches or millimeters/second mean?
Inches per second is a unit of speed or velocity. It expresses the distance in inches traveled or displaced, divided by time in seconds. Millimeters per second is the commonly used metric conversion of the same measure, although it is not the SI unit.
How long before battery needs charging?
The unit will ordinarily last about 7 days without any external power i.e. solar panel, external battery, etc.
Is there down time between shots?
There is no down time between events.
We have remote devices. Do you offer telemetry solutions?
Yes.
- We have software which will schedule calls to your remote SuperGraph equipment and report back event information.
- Our software also accepts incoming IP calls from remote modems to offer “data dumping” for immediate event reporting.
- Reporting options include both website access & emailing (PDF’s attached) as well as short messages known as SMS.
